One of the best senior stories yet
–several days ago as I left a meeting at our church I desperately gave myself a personal TSA pat down. I was looking for my keys. They were not in my pockets. A quick search in the meeting room revealed nothing. Suddenly I realized, I must have left them in the car! Frantically, I headed for the parking lot.
My wife, Diane, has scolded me many times for leaving the keys in the ignition. My theory is that the ignition is the best place not to lose them. Her theory is that the car will be stolen. As I burst out the doors of the church, I came to a terrifying conclusion: Her theory was right. The parking lot was empty.
I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen. Then I made the most difficult call of all.
“Honey,” I stammered (I always call her “honey” in times like these), “I left my keys in the car and it has been stolen.” There was a period of silence. I thought the call had been dropped but then I heard Diane’s voice.
“Ken” she barked, “I dropped you off!”
Now it was my time to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, “Well, come and get me.”
Diane retorted, “I will, as soon as I convince this policeman I have not stolen your car.”

OLD PERSON PRIDE
I'm sharing this with you all as I did not want to be the only “old person” receiving it. One of my Grandchildren recently told me I was older than dirt. Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called as you will see below:
Old People are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the National Anthem. Old People remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.
Old People remember World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal , Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam.
If you bump into an Old People on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Person on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old People trust strangers and are courtly to women.
Old People hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.
Old People get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.
Old People have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grandchildren.
It's the Old People who know our great country is protected, not by politicians, but by the good Lord Himself who loves us all.
This country needs “Old People” with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.
We need them now more than ever! Thank God for Old People!

Remember...life is easier with friends!
There is no security quite as comfortable and undemanding as the kind you feel among old friends.
