Our Senior Trip

Our Senior Trip?

The date was April 5th, 1979.  We arrived at Central at 6:45 A.M. to board the 3 buses that would take us on a trip full of great memories!

Our trip cost $25.00 a person which included:

  • Bus trip to and from
  • Tour of Dulles Airport
  • Tour of Bureau of Printing and Engraving (remember all that money being made?)
  • A visit to the House of Representatives Chamber
  • A visit to the Senate Chamber
  • Lunch at the Supreme Court and Library of Congress
  • A tour of the Shrine of Immaculate Conception
  • A tour of the Wax Museum and the film "The American Adventure"
  • Last but definetely not least, Dinner and the play Cabaret at the Hayloft Dinner Theatre (see program below)

We took 3 buses and the schedule was as follows, along with the schedule of events for the day:

MEMORIES OF THAT TRIP:

I'm sure many of you have fond memories from our Senior Trip (if you can remember back that far).  I know on that trip I had many "firsts".   I had my first big soft pretzel with mustard bought off of a street vendor in D.C. ~ boy was I hooked!  I also had my first escargot at the Hayloft.  I remember Loretta and I picking the "snail" from our shells and thinking it so disgusting!

I think I also recall some guys buying beer in one of the drug stores in D.C.  (no names) when we had our "free time".

If any of you have pictures or memories from our trip, please send them my way at destep99@shentel.net.  A special thanks to Cena for sharing all of these goodies with us!
