1. Where do you live now and where else have you lived and how long?
We live in the St. Luke area of Woodstock on Dysart Road. We have lived here since I retired from the US Army in 2001. Don't plan on living
anywhere else.
2. What did you do right after high school?
I entered the US Army as an aircraft mechanic one month after graduation
from high school. After basic training I went to Ft. Sam Houston in San
Antonio TX and then returned to Ft. Rucker AL to attend flight school.
3. What do you do now and how did you get into that?
I currently work Business Development for BAE Systems which is a very large defense contractor. I work primarily with helicopter related kit that
includes weapons, flight controls, Heads Up Displays and Visor Projected
Imaging. I entered this field by my previous experience as a MH-60K
Blackhawk Pilot, gotta stay with what you know. On the side I run guns and ammunition for the Philippines, yes, I am an international gun runner!
4. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Although I don't like to travel for work, I do still like to travel with my
family to new places. I am currently building my past time of farming a
little. It is just for fun, don't know what the hell I am doing but I do
like it.
5. Married? Kids? Grandkids? Pets?
Married to Cristie Scherer, (graduated CHS in 1980). We have been married now for 25 years, best time of my life. We have 4 children; Katie, 30yrs old (mother of 1st grandson-Cooper), Adam, 24yrs old - gun smith school, Nick 21yrs old - college, Emily 19 yrs old - college.
6. Travel much and where?
Without arrogance I have traveled a lot. I now have chalked up 55 countries and 48 of the 50 states. Mostly Central/South America, Europe and Asia. It is not always what it is cracked up to be. I was just lucky that I worked in an environment that allowed someone else to pay for the journeys.
7. Favorite vacation spot and why?
I think our default favorite place is Cancun Mexico all inclusive. This
means you can drink 24/7! Our most memorable was a Mediterranean Cruise.
8. What is your favorite memory or regret at CHS?
My favorite memory of CHS was the people. I still enjoy getting together
and hearing or being reminded of the stories. Although I spent a lot of
time at church, I still had fun. That's crap, just kidding.
9. Favorite food?
My favorite food is anything with beef or seafood. Mexican food is my
favorite with a monster margarita.
10. Favorite movie?
Caddy Shack and Animal House have to be my favorite.
11. Favorite music?
70's of course!
12. Anything else we should know about you or any thoughts?
Farming is like going to Vegas.
Kids never stop costing you money.
Getting old sucks, I don't care what you say.
I play the lottery for my retirement plan.
Friendship takes work.
Please pray for our troops, they are doing extraordinary things for us!!
